Egypt - Aswan
Stayed in Aswan as a base for a couple of days. Nice hotel, new year's eve and Abu Simbel. Noice.
This is Nubian country so everyone is a lot darker and a bit more curley-haired.
The Old Cataract Hotel - straight out of an Agatha Christie novel - good job, too, she stayed here once.
Traditional river transport is the felucca. We'll be seeing a lot of these.
See.
The desert comes right down to the Nile. Up top is the Aga Khan's memorial and there are a few tombs cut into the rock.
Hotel pool. The hotel is brand new.
There's a scene over the Nile.
