Egypt - Aswan New Years Eve

Had a quick look around the Nubian village and thence to the NYE party at the hotel...

The village was a shopping opportunity.

And you can overpower a natural killer.

The hotel had a New Year's Gala night which, as it goes, we had already paid for. Tell the truth, we thought it would be pretty rubbish but you have to go and have a look. Well, apart from a huge seafood - and then some - buffet, there was drinkies, music, dancing, and, yes, ashtrays. Heaven.

The party animals. The tour split into two groups and this is the one we fell into. The other lot spent much of their time whinging about stuff - and two of them attracted the name; The Miserables. We just went wherever the booze was. Left to right; Me, Kim, Brendan, Michelle and Mick. This lot were another reason we had a great holiday. A good crowd to be with.

Mate, there's something poking out of your grass skirt.

The aftermath. We ended up outside one of the chalets at about 2am while refusing to help out some Americans who had locked themselves out of their room ('That's karma for Iraq'). Well, until they lied and told us they were really Canadians.
